Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Windhoek Upon arrival at Windhoek International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you with the collection of your hired vehicle, go through your itinerary, and answer any questions that you may have. From here you will depart for Windhoek. Lunch and dinner at leisure. Overnight at Terra Africa Guesthouse.

Day 2 – Windhoek / Kalahari Desert After breakfast at Terra Africa, you will depart for the Kalahari Desert. Lunch is at leisure. During the early afternoon, you will arrive at Kalahari Anib Lodge with time for an optional excursion in the property. Dinner and overnight at Kalahari Anib Lodge.

Day 3 – Kalahari Desert / Namib Desert This morning breakfast is enjoyed at the Lodge, prior to your departure for the Namib Desert. Lunch will be enjoyed at leisure. Dinner and overnight at The Desert Homestead.

Day 4 – Namib Desert The Namib Desert is reputed to be the oldest Desert in the World, with some of the highest sand dunes found at Sossusvlei. This morning an early rise will be required, with an early morning excursion to Sossusvlei and visit of the Sesriem Canyon. Additional trips into the Namib Desert are also available. Lunch at leisure. Half board at The Desert Homestead.

Day 5 – Namib Desert / Swakopmund After a hearty breakfast at the Lodge, you will depart for the coastal town Swakopmund, Namibia’s playground. En route you will have the opportunity of visiting the Welwitschia Drive, with some of the oldest examples of this ‘living fossil’ dwarf tree and stop at the viewpoints over the Moon Valley. Lunch and dinner at leisure. Overnight at Villa Margherita.

Day 6 – Swakopmund Today you have an entire day at leisure to explore the little slice of
Bavaria that is Swakopmund, or visiting the Walvis Bay lagoon for optional
activities. These include, but are not limited to: such as scenic flights,
boat excursions on the Walvis Bay lagoon, quad-bikes, sand-boarding,
sky-diving and ‘zorbing’. Lunch and dinner at leisure.

Day 7 – Swakopmund / Damaraland Breakfast will be enjoyed at the Guesthouse, after which you will depart
for Damaraland. En route you will visit Cape Cross Seal colony.
Lunch at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Twyfelfontein Lodge.

Day 8 – Damaraland This morning you will explore the home of Namibia’s first UNESCO World
heritage site, the rock paintings at Twyfelfontein, where over 2,500 paintings
and rock engravings have been identified. The visit will also include the
Organ Pipes and Petrified Forest. Lunch at leisure. Half board at
Twyfelfontein Lodge.

Day 9 – Damaraland / Kaokoland After breakfast this morning you will depart for one of the last remaining
Wilderness areas on the Planet, Kaokoland, where one of the last truly
Nomadic peoples still live as they have done for thousands of years.
Afternoon you will join a local guide/translator for a visit to a Himba Village.
The Himba are closely related to the Herero peoples, and number about 10,000.
They are one of the last Nomadic tribes still alive on the Planet today,
and maintain their culture and heritage throughout the Kaokoland and
Southern Angola. Lunch will be enjoyed at leisure. Dinner and overnight
at Opuwo Country Lodge.

Day 10 – Kaokoland / Ondangwa This morning you will depart to Ondangwa via Ombalandu where you will have opportunity to visit Ombalandu Baobab tree, a tree with a rich history.
Later you will proceed via Oshakati. Lunch will be at leisure. Dinner
and overnight at Protea Hotel Ondangwa.

Day 11 – Ondangwa / Etosha National Park After breakfast at the hotel you will depart for the World famous
Etosha National Park, but en route you will visit Nakambale Museum. In the afternoon you will enjoy Game drives in the Etosha National Park with the hired vehicle. Lunch at leisure. Dinner at leisure and overnight at Namutoni Rest Camp.

Day 12 – Etosha National Park Today is completely dedicated to game viewing in the Etosha National Park,
which is home to 114 species of mammal, including four of the big five and
over 300 species of bird. Game drives can be done in your hire vehicle or
you are welcome to join the rest camp for a guided drive at
additional charge – but it’s highly recommended. Lunch will be
enjoyed at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Okaukuejo Rest Camp.

Day 13 – Etosha National Park / Waterberg Plateau After breakfast at Okaukuejo Rest Camp you depart for the Waterberg Plateau via Anderson Gate. Lunch will be at leisure. Arrive at the Camp in time for
the optional excursion on the Waterberg Plateau organized by the lodge.
Dinner at leisure, overnight at Waterberg Camp.

Day 14 – Waterberg Plateau / Departure Breakfast at the Camp and depart for Windhoek. Drop off of the hired vehicle at Windhoek International Airport in time for check-in on your
departure flight.

For Self-drive tours, the following will be required:

  • A driver’s licence in English or an International driver’s licence is required
